IV. |Prayer for man's salvation2:1-7

1|Tim.|2:1|-|I exhort therefore, first of all, that |1a|petitions, prayers, |2|intercessions, thanksgivings be made on behalf of |b|all men;
1|Tim.|2:2|-|On behalf of |a|kings and all who are in high position, that we may lead a |1|quiet and tranquil life in all |2b|godliness and |3c|gravity.
1|Tim.|2:3|-|This is good and |a|acceptable in the sight of our |b|Savior God,
1|Tim.|2:4|-|Who desires |1a|all men to be |b|saved and to come to the |2c|full knowledge of the |d|truth.
1|Tim.|2:5|-|For there is |1a|one God and one |2b|Mediator of God and men, the |3c|man Christ Jesus,
1|Tim.|2:6|-|Who |1|gave Himself as a |2a|ransom for |b|all, the |3c|testimony to be borne in |d|its own times.
1|Tim.|2:7|-|For which I was |a|appointed a |1|herald and an apostle (I speak the truth; I do not |b|lie), a |2|teacher of the |c|Gentiles in |3d|faith and |e|truth.

V. |The normal life in the church2:8-15

1|Tim.|2:8|-|I desire therefore that men |1|pray in every place, |a|lifting up |2|holy |3b|hands, without |4|wrath and |5c|reasoning;
1|Tim.|2:9|-|Similarly, that women |a|adorn themselves in |1|proper clothing with |2|modesty and |3b|sobriety, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly clothing,
1|Tim.|2:10|-|But, what |a|befits women professing |1b|godly reverence, by good works.
1|Tim.|2:11|-|Let a woman learn in |1a|quietness in all |2b|subjection;
1|Tim.|2:12|-|But I do not permit a |a|woman to |1|teach or to assert authority over a man, but to be in |2|quietness.
1|Tim.|2:13|-|For |1|Adam was |2|formed first, then Eve;
1|Tim.|2:14|-|And |1|Adam was not deceived; but the |2|woman, having been quite |a|deceived, has fallen into transgression.
1|Tim.|2:15|-|But she will be saved through her |1|childbearing, if they remain in |2a|faith and love and |b|holiness with |c|sobriety.
