I. |Introduction—to the believers, who have been allotted equally precious faith1:1-2

2|Pet.|1:1|-||1a|Simon Peter, a |2b|slave and |c|apostle of Jesus Christ, to |3|those who have been |4|allotted |5d|faith |6|equally precious as |7|ours |8|in the |9|righteousness of our |10|God and Savior, Jesus Christ:
2|Pet.|1:2|-||1|Grace to you and peace be |2a|multiplied |3|in the full |4b|knowledge of God and of |5|Jesus our Lord;

II. |The divine provision1:3-21

A. |The impartation of the divine power — vv.|3-11
1. |All things which relate to life and godliness, with the divine nature — vv.|3-4
2|Pet.|1:3|-|Seeing that His |1a|divine power has |2|granted to us |3|all things which relate to |4b|life and |5c|godliness, |6|through the |7|full knowledge of |8|Him who has |d|called us |9|by His own |10e|glory and |11f|virtue,
2|Pet.|1:4|-||1|Through |2|which He has granted to us precious and |3|exceedingly great |a|promises that through |4|these you might become |b|partakers of the divine nature, |5|having |c|escaped the |6|corruption which is in the |d|world |7|by |e|lust.
2. |Growth and development by life unto the rich entrance into the eternal kingdom — vv.|5-11
2|Pet.|1:5|-|And for this very reason also, |1|adding all |a|diligence, |2|supply bountifully in your |3b|faith |4c|virtue; and in virtue, |5d|knowledge;
2|Pet.|1:6|-|And in knowledge, |1a|self-control; and in self-control, |2b|endurance; and in endurance, |3c|godliness;
2|Pet.|1:7|-|And in godliness, |1a|brotherly love; and in brotherly love, |2b|love.
2|Pet.|1:8|-|For |1|these things, |2|existing in you and |3|abounding, |4|constitute you neither |5|idle nor |6a|unfruitful |7|unto the full |8b|knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2|Pet.|1:9|-|For he in whom |1|these things are not present is |a|blind, being |2|shortsighted, |3|having forgotten the |b|cleansing of his past sins.
2|Pet.|1:10|-||1|Therefore, brothers, be the more |a|diligent to |2|make your |b|calling and |c|selection |d|firm, for doing |3|these things you shall by no means ever |e|stumble.
2|Pet.|1:11|-|For in this way the |a|entrance into the |1|eternal |b|kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly and |c|bountifully |2|supplied to you.
B. |The shining of the divine truth — vv.|12-21
1. |By the glory of the apostles' witnessing — vv.|12-18
2|Pet.|1:12|-|Therefore I will be ready always to |a|remind you concerning these things, even though you know them and have been |b|established in the |1|present |c|truth.
2|Pet.|1:13|-|And I consider it |a|right, as long as I am in this |1b|tabernacle, to |c|stir you up by a reminder,
2|Pet.|1:14|-|Knowing that the |1a|putting off of my tabernacle is imminent, even as |2|also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.
2|Pet.|1:15|-|Moreover I will also be diligent that you may be able, after my |1a|exodus, to |b|bring these things to mind at all times.
2|Pet.|1:16|-|For we did not |1|follow |a|cleverly devised |2b|myths when we made known to you the |c|power and |3d|coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we became |4e|eyewitnesses of that One’s |5|majesty.
2|Pet.|1:17|-|For He received from God the Father honor and glory, a |a|voice such as this being |1|borne to Him by the |2|magnificent glory: This is My Son, My Beloved, in whom I delight.
2|Pet.|1:18|-|And this voice we heard being borne out of heaven while we were with Him in the |a|holy |b|mountain.
2. |By the light of the prophetic word — vv.|19-21
2|Pet.|1:19|-||1|And we have the |a|prophetic word made more |b|firm, to which you do well to give heed as to a |2c|lamp shining in a |3|dark place, until the |4d|day dawns and the |e|morning star rises in your hearts;
2|Pet.|1:20|-|Knowing this first, that no prophecy of |a|Scripture is of |1|one’s own |2|interpretation;
2|Pet.|1:21|-||1|For no prophecy was ever |2|borne by the will of man, but men spoke from God while being |2|borne by the Holy |a|Spirit.
