Acts|6:1|-|And in these days, as the disciples were |a|multiplying in number, a murmuring of the |1b|Hellenists against the |2|Hebrews occurred, because their |c|widows were being overlooked in the daily |d|dispensing.
Acts|6:2|-|And the twelve called the multitude of the disciples to them and said, It is not |1|fitting for us to forsake the word of God and serve tables.
Acts|6:3|-|But brothers, look for seven |a|well-attested men from among you, |1|full of the |b|Spirit and of |2c|wisdom, whom we will appoint over this need.
Acts|6:4|-|But we will continue steadfastly in |1a|prayer and in the |b|ministry of the word.
Acts|6:5|-|And the word pleased all the multitude; and they chose Stephen, a man full of |a|faith and of the Holy |b|Spirit, and |c|Philip and Prochorus and Nicanor and Timon and Parmenas and Nicolas, a |1|proselyte of Antioch,
Acts|6:6|-|Whom they set before the apostles; and when they had |a|prayed, they |1b|laid their hands on |2|them.

Acts|6:7|-|And the word of God |1a|grew, and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem |b|multiplied greatly; and a large number of the priests |c|obeyed the |2d|faith.

Acts|6:8|-|And Stephen, full of grace and |a|power, did great |1|wonders and signs among the people.
Acts|6:9|-|But some of those of the |1|synagogue which is called the synagogue of the |2|Libertines and of the Cyrenians and of the Alexandrians and of those from Cilicia and Asia rose up and disputed with Stephen;
Acts|6:10|-|Yet they were not able to |a|withstand the wisdom and the |b|Spirit with which he spoke.
Acts|6:11|-|Then they instigated some men to |a|say, We have heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God.
Acts|6:12|-|And they stirred up the people and the elders and the scribes, and they came upon him and seized him and led him to the |1|Sanhedrin.
Acts|6:13|-|And they set up |a|false |b|witnesses, saying, This man does not cease speaking words |c|against this holy |1|place and the law,
Acts|6:14|-|For we have heard him saying that this Jesus the Nazarene will |1|destroy this place and will change the |a|customs which Moses delivered to us.
Acts|6:15|-|And all those sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at him and saw his face as though it were the |1|face of an angel.
