a. |Jesus going through death and Christ coming in resurrection to bring the believers into the Father — vv.|1-6

John|14:2|-|In |1a|My Father’s house are |2|many |b|abodes; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I |3c|go to prepare a place for you.
John|14:3|-|And |1|if I go and |2|prepare a place for you, I |a|am coming again and will |3|receive you to Myself, so that |4b|where I am you also may be.
John|14:4|-|And where I am going you know the way.
John|14:5|-|Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You are going; how can we know the way?
John|14:6|-|Jesus said to him, I am the |1|way and the |2a|reality and the |b|life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.

John|14:8|-|Philip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father and it is sufficient for us.
John|14:9|-|Jesus said to him, Have I been so long a time with you, and you have not known Me, Philip? He who has |a|seen Me has seen the Father; how is it that you say, Show us the Father?
John|14:10|-|Do you not believe that I am |a|in the Father and the |b|Father is in Me? The |1c|words that I say to you I do not speak |d|from Myself, but the Father who abides in Me does His works.
John|14:11|-|Believe Me that I am |a|in the Father and the Father is in Me; but if not, believe because of the |b|works themselves.
John|14:12|-|Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes into Me, the works which I do he shall do also; and |a|greater than these he shall do because I am |1b|going to the Father.
John|14:13|-|And whatever you |a|ask |1|in My name, that I will do, that the |2|Father may be |b|glorified in the Son.
John|14:14|-|If you |a|ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.
(2) |The Son realized as the Spirit to abide in the believers — vv.|15-20
John|14:15|-|If you |a|love Me, you will keep My |b|commandments.
John|14:16|-|And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another |1a|Comforter, that He may be with you forever,
John|14:17|-|Even the |1a|Spirit of reality, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him; but you know Him, because |2|He abides with you and shall be |3b|in you.
John|14:18|-||1|I will not leave you as orphans; I am |2a|coming to you.
John|14:19|-|Yet |a|a little while and the world beholds Me no longer, but you behold Me; because I |1b|live, you also shall |c|live.
John|14:20|-|In that |1a|day you will know that I am |b|in My Father, and you |c|in Me, and I |d|in you.
c. |The Triune God making an abode with the believers — vv.|21-24
John|14:21|-|He who has My commandments and keeps them, he is the one who |a|loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will |b|manifest Myself to him.
John|14:22|-|Judas, not Iscariot, said to Him, Lord, and what has happened that You are to manifest Yourself to us and not to the world?
John|14:23|-|Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone |a|loves Me, he will |b|keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make an |1c|abode with him.
John|14:24|-|He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the |a|word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.
d. |The Comforter's reminding and life's peace — vv.|25-31
John|14:25|-|These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you;
John|14:26|-|But the |1a|Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the |2|Father will send in |3|My name, He will |b|teach you |c|all things and remind you of all the things which I have said to you.
John|14:27|-||a|Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be |b|troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John|14:28|-|You have heard that I said to you, I am |a|going away and I am |1|coming to you. If you loved Me, you would rejoice because |b|I am |2|going to the Father, for the Father is |c|greater than I.
John|14:29|-|And now I have told you |a|before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe.
John|14:30|-|I will no longer speak much with you, for the |a|ruler of the world is coming, and in Me he has nothing;
John|14:31|-|But this is so that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father |a|commanded Me, so I do. Rise, let us go from here.
