John|3:1|-||1|But there was a man of the Pharisees named |a|Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
John|3:2|-|This one came to Him by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a |1|teacher, for no one can do these |a|signs that You do unless |b|God is with him.
John|3:3|-|Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless one is |1a|born anew, he cannot |2|see the |3b|kingdom of God.
John|3:4|-|Nicodemus said to Him, How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?
John|3:5|-|Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless one is |a|born |1|of |2|water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
John|3:6|-|That which is |a|born |1|of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born |1|of the |2|Spirit is |2|spirit.
John|3:7|-|Do not marvel that I said to you, |1|You must be born anew.
John|3:8|-|The |1a|wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from and where it goes; so is everyone who is born |2|of the Spirit.
John|3:9|-|Nicodemus answered and said to Him, How can these things be?
John|3:10|-|Jesus answered and said to him, You are a teacher of Israel, and you do not know these things?
John|3:11|-|Truly, truly, I say to you, We speak that which we know and |a|testify of that which we have seen, and yet you do not receive our testimony.
John|3:12|-|If I told you of the |1|things on earth and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you of the |1|things in heaven?
John|3:13|-|And |a|no one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended out of heaven, the |b|Son of Man, |1|who is in heaven.
John|3:14|-|And as |a|Moses |b|lifted up the |1|serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
John|3:15|-|That everyone who believes into Him may have |1|eternal life.
John|3:16|-|For God so |a|loved the |1|world that He |b|gave His |c|only begotten Son, that everyone who |2d|believes into Him would not perish, but would have eternal life.
John|3:17|-|For God did not send the Son into the world to |1|condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
John|3:18|-|He who believes into Him is not |1|condemned; but he who does not believe has been |1|condemned already, because he has not believed into the name of |a|the only begotten Son of God.
John|3:19|-|And this is the |1|condemnation, that the |a|light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil.
John|3:20|-|For everyone who |1|practices evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his works be |2|reproved.
John|3:21|-|But he who does the |1|truth comes to the light, that his works may be manifested that they are wrought in God.
John|3:22|-|After these things, Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He spent some time with them and |a|baptized.
John|3:23|-|And John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there; and people came and were baptized;
John|3:24|-|For |a|John had not yet been thrown into prison.
John|3:25|-|There arose therefore a questioning on the part of John’s disciples with a Jew about |a|purification.
John|3:26|-|And they came to John and said to him, Rabbi, He who was with you |a|across the Jordan, of whom you have |b|testified, behold, He is |c|baptizing and all are coming to Him.
John|3:27|-|John answered and said, A man cannot receive anything unless it has been given to him from heaven.
John|3:28|-|You yourselves testify of me that I said, |a|I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before Him.
John|3:29|-||a|He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices with joy because of the bridegroom’s voice. This joy of mine therefore is made full.
John|3:30|-|He must |1|increase, but I must decrease.
John|3:31|-||1a|He who comes from above is above all; he who is |2|from the earth is |2|of the earth and speaks |2|out of the earth. |b|He who comes |2|from heaven is above all.
John|3:32|-|What He has seen and heard, of this He testifies, and |a|no one receives His testimony.
John|3:33|-|He who receives His testimony has sealed that God is true.
John|3:34|-|For He whom God has sent speaks the |1|words of God, for He gives the Spirit not by measure.
John|3:35|-||a|The Father loves the Son and has given all into His hand.
John|3:36|-|He who |a|believes into the Son has eternal life; but he who disobeys the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him.
