Luke|13:1|-||1|Now there were some present at the same time who reported to Him concerning the |a|Galileans whose blood |b|Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
Luke|13:2|-|And He answered and said to them, Do you think that these Galileans were sinners beyond all the Galileans because they suffered these things?
Luke|13:3|-|No, I tell you; but unless you |a|repent, you shall all likewise |b|perish.
Luke|13:4|-|Or those eighteen on whom the tower in |a|Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were debtors beyond all the men dwelling in Jerusalem?
Luke|13:5|-|No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you shall all similarly perish.
Luke|13:6|-||1|And He told |2|this parable: A certain man had a |a|fig tree planted in his |b|vineyard. And he came seeking fruit on it and did not find any.
Luke|13:7|-|And he said to the vinedresser, Behold, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I have not found any. |a|Cut it down therefore. Why does it also |1|make the ground useless?
Luke|13:8|-|But he answered and said to him, Master, leave it this year also, until I dig around it and throw on manure.
Luke|13:9|-|And if it produces fruit in the future, good; otherwise, cut it down.
Luke|13:10|-|And He was teaching in one of the |a|synagogues on the Sabbath.
Luke|13:11|-|And behold, there was a woman who had a |1a|spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was |2|bent double and could not stand erect at all.
Luke|13:12|-|And Jesus, seeing her, called her to Him and said to her, Woman, you are released from your infirmity.
Luke|13:13|-|And He |a|laid His hands on her, and instantly she was made erect and began to |b|glorify God.
Luke|13:14|-|But the |a|ruler of the synagogue, being |1|indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, answered and said to the crowd, There are |b|six days in which man should work; therefore, come on them and be healed, and |c|not on the Sabbath day.
Luke|13:15|-|But the Lord answered him and said, |1a|Hypocrites! Does not each of you on the |b|Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away and water it?
Luke|13:16|-|And this woman, being a |1|daughter of |a|Abraham whom |2b|Satan has bound, behold, for eighteen years, should she not have been released from this bond on the |3|Sabbath day?
Luke|13:17|-|And when He said these things, all those opposing Him were put to |a|shame, and all the crowd rejoiced over all the |b|glorious things that were being done by Him.
Luke|13:18|-||1|He said therefore, What is the |a|kingdom of God like, and to what shall I liken it?
Luke|13:19|-|It is like a |a|mustard seed, which a man took and threw into his own garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of heaven roosted in its branches.
Luke|13:20|-|And again He said, To what shall I liken the kingdom of God?
Luke|13:21|-|It is like |a|leaven, which a woman took and hid in |b|three measures of meal until the |c|whole was leavened.
Luke|13:22|-|And He journeyed throughout the cities and |a|villages, teaching and making His way toward |b|Jerusalem.
Luke|13:23|-|And someone said to Him, Lord, are there only a few who are being |a|saved?
Luke|13:24|-|And He said to them, |a|Struggle to enter through the |1b|narrow door, because many, I tell you, will seek to enter, yet will not be |2|able.
Luke|13:25|-|Once the Master of the house has risen and |a|shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, |b|Lord, open to us, then He will answer and say to you, I do not know you, nor where you are from.
Luke|13:26|-|Then you will begin to say, We |a|ate in Your presence and drank, and You taught in our streets.
Luke|13:27|-|And He will say, I tell you, I do not know where you are from. |a|Go away from Me, all you workers of unrighteousness.
Luke|13:28|-|There will be |1a|weeping and gnashing of teeth there when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the |2|kingdom of God, but you being cast |b|outside.
Luke|13:29|-|And they will come from the east and the west, and from the north and the south, and will recline at table in the |a|kingdom of God.
Luke|13:30|-|And behold, there are some |1|last who will be first, and there are some |2|first who will be last.
Luke|13:31|-|In the same hour some |a|Pharisees came up, saying to Him, Get out and go from here, for |b|Herod wants to |1|kill you.
Luke|13:32|-|And He said to them, Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and accomplish healings |1|today and tomorrow, and on the |a|third day I |2|am |b|perfected.
Luke|13:33|-|However, I |1|must journey today and tomorrow and on the following day because it is not acceptable for a |a|prophet to perish outside of |b|Jerusalem.
Luke|13:34|-||a|Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who |1|kills the prophets and |b|stones those who are sent to her! How often I desired to |c|gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her own brood under her |d|wings, and you |e|would not!
Luke|13:35|-|Behold, your |1|house is left to you. And I say to you, You shall by no means see Me until the time comes when you say, |a|Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!
