Luke|6:1|-||1|And |2|one |a|Sabbath He was going through the grainfields, and His disciples were picking and eating the |b|ears of grain, rubbing them in their hands.
Luke|6:2|-|And some of the |a|Pharisees said, Why are you doing what is |b|not lawful to do on the Sabbath?
Luke|6:3|-|And Jesus answered them and said, Have you not even read this that |a|David did when he became hungry, he and those who were with him;
Luke|6:4|-|How he entered into the house of God, and taking the |a|bread of the Presence, he ate it and gave some to those with him, which is not lawful for anyone to eat except the priests alone?
Luke|6:5|-|And He said to them, The |a|Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.
Luke|6:6|-|And |1|on another Sabbath He entered into the |a|synagogue and |2|taught. And there was a |b|man there, and his right hand was withered.
Luke|6:7|-|And the scribes and the Pharisees were |a|watching Him closely to see if He would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might find reason to |b|accuse Him.
Luke|6:8|-|But He |a|knew their reasonings and said to the man who had the withered hand, Rise and stand in the midst. And he rose up and stood.
Luke|6:9|-|And Jesus said to them, I ask you, Is it |a|lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save a |1|life or to destroy it?
Luke|6:10|-|And |a|looking around at all of them, He said to him, Stretch out your hand. And he did, and his hand was restored.
Luke|6:11|-|But they were filled with |1a|rage and |b|discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.
Luke|6:12|-|And in these days He went out to the mountain to |1a|pray, and He spent the whole night in |2|prayer to God.
Luke|6:13|-|And when it became day, He |1a|called His |b|disciples to Him, and He chose from them twelve, whom He also named |c|apostles:
Luke|6:14|-||a|Simon, whom He also named |b|Peter, and |c|Andrew his brother and |d|James and John and |e|Philip and Bartholomew
Luke|6:15|-|And |a|Matthew and Thomas and James the son of Alphaeus and Simon, who was called Zealot,
Luke|6:16|-|And |a|Judas the |1|brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became the traitor.
Luke|6:17|-|And He came down with them and stood on a level place; and there was a |a|great crowd of His disciples, and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast of |b|Tyre and Sidon, who had come to hear Him and to be healed of their diseases.
Luke|6:18|-|And those who were troubled by unclean |a|spirits were healed.
Luke|6:19|-|And all the crowd sought to |a|touch Him, because |b|power was going out from Him and healing all.
Luke|6:20|-|And He |a|lifted up His eyes to His disciples and |b|said, |1|Blessed are the |2c|poor, for yours is the |3d|kingdom of God.
Luke|6:21|-|Blessed are those who |a|hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are those who |b|weep now, for you shall laugh.
Luke|6:22|-|Blessed are you when men |a|hate you and when they separate you from them and |b|reproach you and |c|cast out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.
Luke|6:23|-||a|Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the |b|prophets.
Luke|6:24|-||1|But |a|woe to you who are |b|rich, for you have |2c|received your consolation in full.
Luke|6:25|-|Woe to you who are satiated now, for you shall |a|hunger. Woe to you who are |b|laughing now, for you shall mourn and weep.
Luke|6:26|-|Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false |a|prophets.
Luke|6:27|-|But to you who hear I say, |1|Love your |a|enemies; do well to those who hate you;
Luke|6:28|-||a|Bless those who curse you; |b|pray for those who revile you.
Luke|6:29|-|To him who |a|beats you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either.
Luke|6:30|-|To everyone who asks of you, |a|give; and from him who takes away your things, do not require their return.
Luke|6:31|-|And just as you want men to |a|do to you, do to them likewise.
Luke|6:32|-|And if you |a|love those who love you, what |1|thanks is it to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
Luke|6:33|-|For if you also do good to those who do good to you, what thanks is it to you? Even sinners do the same.
Luke|6:34|-|And if you |a|lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what thanks is it to you? Even sinners lend to sinners that they may get back the equal amount.
Luke|6:35|-|But love your |a|enemies, and do good and |b|lend, |1|expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be |c|sons of the |d|Most High; for He is kind to the unthankful and evil.
Luke|6:36|-|Be full of compassion, even |a|as your Father also is full of |b|compassion.
Luke|6:37|-|And |1|do |a|not judge, and you shall by no means be judged; and do |b|not condemn, and you shall by no means be condemned; |c|release, and you will be released;
Luke|6:38|-||a|Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, they will give into your |1|bosom. For with what |b|measure you measure, it shall be measured to you in return.
Luke|6:39|-|And He also spoke a parable to them: |1|A |2|blind man cannot |a|guide a blind man, can he? Will not both fall into a pit?
Luke|6:40|-|A |a|disciple is not above the teacher, but everyone who has been perfected will be like his teacher.
Luke|6:41|-|And why do you |1|look at the |a|splinter which is in your brother’s eye, but the beam which is in your |b|own eye you do not consider?
Luke|6:42|-|How can you say to your brother, Brother, let me remove the splinter which is in your eye, you yourself not seeing the beam which is in your eye? |1|Hypocrite, first remove the beam from your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the splinter which is in your brother’s eye.
Luke|6:43|-|For there is |a|no good tree that produces corrupt fruit, nor again a corrupt tree that produces good fruit.
Luke|6:44|-|For each tree is |a|known by its own fruit. For men do not collect figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a thornbush.
Luke|6:45|-|The good man, out of the |a|good treasure of his heart, brings forth that which is good, and the evil man, out of the evil treasure of his heart, brings forth that which is evil; for |b|out of the abundance of his heart his mouth speaks.
Luke|6:46|-|And why do you call Me, |a|Lord, Lord, and do not do the things that I say?
Luke|6:47|-||1|Everyone who comes to Me and |a|hears My words and does them, I will show you whom he is like.
Luke|6:48|-|He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep and laid a foundation on the rock. And when a flood came, the river broke out against that house, yet it was not strong enough to shake it, because it had been built well.
Luke|6:49|-|But he who hears and does not do is like a man who built a house upon the earth without a foundation, against which the river broke out, and immediately it |a|collapsed, and the crash of that house was great.
