Matt.|11:1|-|And when Jesus had finished giving instructions to His twelve disciples, He departed from there to |a|teach and to preach in their cities.
Matt.|11:2|-||a|Now when John heard in the |b|prison of the |c|works of the Christ, he sent word through his disciples
Matt.|11:3|-|And said to Him, |1|Are You the |a|Coming One, or should we expect |2|another?
Matt.|11:4|-|And Jesus answered and said to them, Go, report to John the things that you hear and see:
Matt.|11:5|-|The |1a|blind receive their sight and the |2|lame walk; the |3b|lepers are cleansed and the |4|deaf hear; and the |5|dead are raised and the |6c|poor have the gospel announced to them;
Matt.|11:6|-|And blessed is he who is not |1a|stumbled because of Me.
Matt.|11:7|-|And as these went away, Jesus began to |1|say to the crowds concerning John, What did you go out into the |a|wilderness to |2|look at? A |3b|reed shaken by the wind?
Matt.|11:8|-|But what did you go out to |1|see? A |2|man arrayed in soft |a|clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in the houses of kings.
Matt.|11:9|-|But why did you go out? To see a |a|prophet? Yes, I say to you, and |1|much more than a prophet.
Matt.|11:10|-|This is he concerning whom it is written, |a|“Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You.”
Matt.|11:11|-|Truly I say to you, Among those born of women there has not arisen one greater than John the Baptist, yet he who is |1|least |2|in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he.
Matt.|11:12|-|But from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of the heavens is taken by |1a|violence, and violent men seize it.
Matt.|11:13|-|For all the |a|prophets and the law prophesied |1|until John;
Matt.|11:14|-|And if you are willing to receive |1|it, he is |2a|Elijah, who is to come.
Matt.|11:15|-|He who has |a|ears to hear, let him hear.
Matt.|11:16|-|But to what shall I liken this |a|generation? It is like little children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to the others
Matt.|11:17|-|And say, We have |1|played the flute to you, and you did not dance; we have |1|sung a dirge, and you did not mourn.
Matt.|11:18|-|For John came |1|neither |a|eating nor |b|drinking; and they say, He has a |2c|demon.
Matt.|11:19|-|The |a|Son of Man came |1b|eating and drinking; and they say, Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a |2|friend of |c|tax collectors and sinners. Yet |3d|wisdom is justified by her |4|works.
Matt.|11:20|-|Then He began to reproach the cities in which most of His |a|works of power took place, because they did not repent:
Matt.|11:21|-||a|Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, |b|Bethsaida! For if the works of power which took place in you had taken place in |c|Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in |d|sackcloth and |e|ashes.
Matt.|11:22|-|But I say to you, It will be |1a|more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.
Matt.|11:23|-|And you, |a|Capernaum, who have been |b|exalted to heaven, |c|to |1d|Hades you will be brought down. For if the works of power which took place in you had taken place in Sodom, it would have remained until today.
Matt.|11:24|-|But I say to you that it will be more tolerable for the land of |a|Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.
Matt.|11:25|-||a|At that time Jesus |1|answered and said, I |2|extol You, Father, |3b|Lord of heaven and of earth, because You have hidden |4|these things from the |5|wise and intelligent and have revealed them to |6|infants.
Matt.|11:26|-|Yes, Father, for thus it has been well-pleasing |1|in Your sight.
Matt.|11:27|-||1a|All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one fully |2b|knows the Son except the Father; neither does anyone fully |2c|know the Father except the Son and him to whom the Son wills to |d|reveal Him.
Matt.|11:28|-||a|Come to Me all who |1b|toil and are burdened, and I will give you |2|rest.
Matt.|11:29|-||1|Take My |2|yoke upon you and |a|learn from Me, for I am |3b|meek and |3|lowly in heart, and you will find |c|rest for your |4|souls.
Matt.|11:30|-|For My |1|yoke is |2a|easy and My |1|burden is light.
