Matt.|6:1|-||1|But take care not to do your |2|righteousness |3|before men in order to be |a|gazed at by them; otherwise, you have no reward with your |4|Father who is in the heavens.
Matt.|6:2|-|Therefore when you |a|give alms, do not |1|sound a trumpet before you as the |2b|hypocrites do in the |3|synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be |c|glorified by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward in full.
Matt.|6:3|-|But you, when you give alms, do not let your |1|left hand know what your right hand is doing,
Matt.|6:4|-|So that your alms may be in |1a|secret; and your Father who |2|sees in secret will |3b|repay you.
Matt.|6:5|-|And when you pray, you shall not be like the |a|hypocrites, because they love to |b|pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners, so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, They have |1|their reward in full.
Matt.|6:6|-|But you, when you pray, enter into your |1|private room, and |a|shut your door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in |b|secret will repay you.
Matt.|6:7|-|And in praying do |1|not babble empty words as the Gentiles do; for they suppose that in their |a|multiplicity of words they will be heard.
Matt.|6:8|-|Therefore do not be like them, for your Father |a|knows the things that you have need of before you |1|ask Him.
Matt.|6:9|-||a|You then pray |1|in this way: Our |b|Father who is in the heavens, |2|Your name be |c|sanctified;
Matt.|6:10|-|Your |a|kingdom come; Your |b|will be done, as in heaven, so also on |1|earth.
Matt.|6:11|-||1|Give us |2|today our |3|daily bread.
Matt.|6:12|-|And |1a|forgive us our debts, as we also have |1|forgiven our debtors.
Matt.|6:13|-|And do |1|not bring us into |a|temptation, but |b|deliver us from |2|the |c|evil one. |3|For Yours is the |4d|kingdom and the |e|power and the |f|glory forever. |5g|Amen.
Matt.|6:14|-||1|For if you |a|forgive men their offenses, your heavenly Father will forgive you also;
Matt.|6:15|-|But if you do |a|not forgive men their offenses, neither will your Father forgive your offenses.
Matt.|6:16|-|And when you |1a|fast, do not be like the sullen-faced hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so that they may |b|appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you, They have their reward in full.
Matt.|6:17|-|But you, when you fast, |a|anoint your head and wash your face,
Matt.|6:18|-|So that you may not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in |a|secret; and your Father who sees in secret will repay you.
Matt.|6:19|-||1|Do |a|not store up for yourselves treasures on the earth, where |b|moth and rust consume and where thieves dig through and steal.
Matt.|6:20|-|But |1|store up for yourselves |a|treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not |b|dig through nor steal.
Matt.|6:21|-|For where your treasure is, there will your |1a|heart be also.
Matt.|6:22|-|The |a|lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is |1|single, your whole body will be full of light;
Matt.|6:23|-|But if your eye is |1|evil, your whole body will be dark. If then the |2|light that is in you is |a|darkness, how great is the darkness!
Matt.|6:24|-|No one can |1|serve |a|two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will |2|hold to one and despise the other. You cannot |1|serve God and |3b|mammon.
Matt.|6:25|-|Because of this, I say to you, |a|Do not be |b|anxious for your |1|life, what you should eat or what you should drink; nor for your body, what you should put on. Is not the |1|life |2|more than food, and the body than clothing?
Matt.|6:26|-|Look at the |a|birds of heaven. They do not sow nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father nourishes them. Are you not of more value than they?
Matt.|6:27|-|Who among you by being anxious can add one cubit to |1|his stature?
Matt.|6:28|-|And why are you |a|anxious concerning |b|clothing? Consider well the |1c|lilies of the field, how they grow. They do not toil, neither do they spin thread.
Matt.|6:29|-|But I tell you that not even |a|Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these.
Matt.|6:30|-|And if God so arrays the |a|grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is cast into the furnace, will He not much more |b|clothe you, you of |c|little faith?
Matt.|6:31|-|Therefore do not be |a|anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed?
Matt.|6:32|-|For all these things the Gentiles are anxiously seeking. For your |1|heavenly Father knows that you |a|need all these things.
Matt.|6:33|-|But seek first His |1a|kingdom and His |1b|righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matt.|6:34|-|Therefore do not be |a|anxious for |1b|tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself; sufficient for the day is its own |2|evil.
