Mark|7:1|-||1|And the |a|Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered together to Him when they had come from |b|Jerusalem
Mark|7:2|-|And |1|had seen that some of His disciples ate bread with common hands, that is, |a|unwashed.
Mark|7:3|-|(For the Pharisees and all the Jews, unless they |1|carefully wash their hands, do not eat, holding the |a|tradition of the |2|elders;
Mark|7:4|-|And when they come from the marketplace, unless they |1|wash themselves, they do not eat. And there are |a|many other things which they have received to hold, the |b|dipping of cups and pitchers and copper vessels|2|.)
Mark|7:5|-|And the |1|Pharisees and the scribes questioned Him, Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with common hands?
Mark|7:6|-|And He said to them, Well has Isaiah prophesied concerning you |1|hypocrites, as it is written, |a|“This people honors Me with their |b|lips, but their heart stays far away from Me;
Mark|7:7|-|But in vain do they |1|worship Me, teaching as teachings the commandments of |a|men.”
Mark|7:8|-|While leaving the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men|1|.
Mark|7:9|-|And He said to them, You nicely |1a|set aside the commandment of God that you may keep your tradition.
Mark|7:10|-|For Moses said, |a|“Honor your father and your mother,” and, |b|“He who speaks evil of father or mother, |1|let him be put to death.”
Mark|7:11|-|But you say: If a man says to his father or his mother, Whatever you would have been profited by me is now |1|corban (that is, a |a|gift to God),
Mark|7:12|-|Allow him to no longer do anything for his father or his mother.
Mark|7:13|-|Thus you deprive the word of God of its authority by your tradition which you have handed down. And |a|many things similar to these you do.
Mark|7:14|-|And He called the crowd to Him again and said to them, Hear Me, all of you, and |a|understand.
Mark|7:15|-|There is nothing outside of a man which entering into him can |1|defile him, but the things coming out of a man are the things which defile a man.
Mark|7:16|-||1|If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.
Mark|7:17|-|And when He entered into a |a|house from the crowd, His disciples questioned Him concerning the |b|parable.
Mark|7:18|-|And He said to them, Are you also in the same manner without |a|understanding? Do you not understand that everything that enters from outside into a man is not able to defile him,
Mark|7:19|-|Because it does not enter into his heart, but into the |a|stomach, and goes out into the drain? (In saying this, He made all foods |b|clean.)
Mark|7:20|-|And He said, That which goes out of the man, that |a|defiles the man.
Mark|7:21|-|For from within, out of the |a|heart of men, proceed evil reasonings, fornications, thefts, |b|murders,
Mark|7:22|-||a|Adulteries, |b|covetousness, wickedness, |1|deceit, licentiousness, |2|envy, |c|blasphemy, arrogance, foolishness.
Mark|7:23|-|All these |1|wicked things proceed from within and defile the man.
Mark|7:24|-||1|And He rose up from there and |a|went away into the borders of |b|Tyre |2|and Sidon. And entering into a |c|house, He wanted |3|no one to know about it; yet He could not escape notice.
Mark|7:25|-|But a woman whose little daughter had an |a|unclean spirit heard about Him, and |b|immediately she came and fell at His feet.
Mark|7:26|-|Now the woman was a |a|Greek, |1|Syrophoenician by race. And she asked Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.
Mark|7:27|-|And He said to her, |a|First let the |b|children be satisfied, for it is not good to take the children’s |c|bread and throw it to the |1|little |d|dogs.
Mark|7:28|-|And she answered and said to Him, Yes, Lord, but even the little dogs under the |a|table eat of the little children’s crumbs.
Mark|7:29|-|And He said to her, Because of this word, |a|go. The |1|demon has gone out of your daughter.
Mark|7:30|-|And she went away to her house and found the little child lying on the couch and the demon gone out.
Mark|7:31|-|And again He |a|came out of the borders of |b|Tyre and came through Sidon to the Sea of |1c|Galilee in the midst of the borders of |2d|Decapolis.
Mark|7:32|-|And they brought to Him |1|one who was |a|deaf and who |b|spoke with difficulty, and they entreated Him to |c|lay His hand on him.
Mark|7:33|-|And He took him aside from the crowd privately and |1|put His fingers into his ears, and He |a|spat and touched his tongue.
Mark|7:34|-|And |a|looking up to heaven, He |b|groaned and said to him, |1|Ephphatha! that is, Be opened!
Mark|7:35|-|And |a|immediately his ears were opened, and the bond on his tongue was released and he spoke clearly.
Mark|7:36|-|And He charged them |1|not to tell |a|anyone. But the more He charged them, so much the more they |b|proclaimed it.
Mark|7:37|-|And they were utterly |a|astounded, saying, He has done all things well; He makes both the deaf hear and the dumb speak.
