12. |The new heaven and the new earth21:1-8

Rev.|21:1|-|And I saw a |1a|new heaven and a new earth; for the |2b|first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the |3|sea is no more.

Rev.|21:2|-|And I saw the |a|holy city, |1b|New Jerusalem, |2|coming down out of heaven from God, |c|prepared as a |3d|bride adorned for her |e|husband.

Rev.|21:3|-|And I heard a |a|loud voice out of the throne, saying, Behold, the |1b|tabernacle of God is with men, and He will |c|tabernacle with them, and |d|they will be His peoples, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.
Rev.|21:4|-|And He will |1a|wipe away every tear from their eyes; and |2b|death will be no more, nor will there be |c|sorrow or crying or pain anymore; for the |3d|former things have passed away.
d. |The sons of God in eternity — vv.|5-7
Rev.|21:5|-|And He |a|who sits on the throne said, Behold, I make all things |b|new. And He said, Write, for these words are |c|faithful and true.
Rev.|21:6|-|And He said to me, |1|They have come to pass. I am the |a|Alpha and the Omega, the |b|Beginning and the End. I will give to him who |c|thirsts from the |d|spring of the |e|water of life freely.
Rev.|21:7|-|He who |1a|overcomes will inherit these things, and |b|I will be God to him, and he will be a |2c|son to Me.

Rev.|21:8|-|But the cowardly and unbelieving and |a|abominable and murderers and |b|fornicators and sorcerers and idolaters and all the |1|false, their part will be in the |2c|lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the |d|second death.

Rev.|21:10|-|And he |a|carried me away |b|in spirit onto a |1|great and high mountain and showed me the |c|holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,

Rev.|21:12|-|It had a |1|great and high |a|wall and had |2b|twelve |c|gates, and at the gates twelve |3|angels, and names inscribed, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of |4|Israel:
Rev.|21:13|-|On the |1|east three gates, and on the |1|north three gates, and on the |1|south three gates, and on the |1|west three gates.
Rev.|21:14|-|And the wall of the city had twelve |1a|foundations, and on them the twelve names of the |b|twelve |2|apostles of the Lamb.
Rev.|21:15|-|And he who spoke with me had a |1|golden reed as a measure that he might |a|measure the city and its gates and its wall.
Rev.|21:16|-|And the city lies |1a|square, and its length is as great as the breadth. And he measured the city with the reed to a length of |2|twelve thousand |3|stadia; the |4|length and the breadth and the height of it are |b|equal.
Rev.|21:17|-|And he measured its wall, a |1|hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a |2|man, that is, of an |2a|angel.
Rev.|21:18|-|And the building work of its wall was |1a|jasper; and the city was |2|pure |3b|gold, like |4|clear glass.
Rev.|21:19|-|The |1a|foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every |b|precious stone: the first foundation was |2|jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;
Rev.|21:20|-|The fifth, |a|sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.
Rev.|21:21|-|And the |a|twelve gates were twelve |1b|pearls; each one of the gates was, respectively, of |2|one pearl. And the |3|street of the city was pure |c|gold, like |4|transparent glass.

Rev.|21:22|-|And I saw |1|no |2a|temple in it, for the |b|Lord God the Almighty and the |c|Lamb are its |2d|temple.

Rev.|21:23|-|And the city has |1a|no need of the sun or of the moon that they should shine in it, for the |b|glory of God illumined it, and its |2c|lamp is the Lamb.

Rev.|21:24|-|And the |1a|nations will walk by its |2|light; and the |3b|kings of the earth bring their |4|glory into it.
Rev.|21:25|-|And its gates shall by |1a|no means be shut by day, for there will be no |2b|night there.
Rev.|21:26|-|And they will bring the |1a|glory and the |2|honor of the nations into it.
Rev.|21:27|-|And anything |a|common and he who makes an |b|abomination and a |c|lie shall by no means |d|enter into it, but only |1|those who are |e|written in the Lamb’s |2|book of life.
